Sewing spree #3: Chocolate stripes

I didn't have any plans to buy any new fabrics before New Year but here we are. I grabbed few fabrics at the school's Christmas market and got one skirt done before Christmas. I call it Chocolate Stripes.

The fabric is really soft wool and it was in two pieces: full stripe and half stripe, both 80~cm wide. I decided to go with the same wide waist I have used few times before. I used up the whole stripe fabric for this skirt (and few bows), some beige were left over.

The pattern were really simple one with side zipper. Front of the waist were supposed to have buttons but as I was sewing bows I though they would look better. For the back I used leftover stripes for waist ties and made some tube for corset lacing. The tube is really stiff so it will be changed to some satin ribbon or something alike.

The stitchings are quite bad with this as the fabric is somewhat thick and my machine is bad with thick fabrics. Waist ties are also a bit sad. But overall this skirt looks good and is really nice to wear.

See you next time~
